Goodbye 2009

me 200908
I haven't had much time nor energy to blog of late. It must be due to WORK, KIDS & everything else...

Taking check of my 2009 right now. The things I've done. It has been a pretty "short" year for me.

1. Tried out being a Liabilities Team Lead only to realise that it's really not my cup of tea.
2. Gave birth to my 2nd daughter, Katelyn-Mae. Now coming 7 months.
3. Went for a 3 month maternity break (ok, not much of an accomplishment here, but it was a hell of a break!)
4. Lost 16kgs in 3 months post maternity.
5. Made my 2nd trip up to Genting with my newborn 7 week old.
6. Went to Cameron Highlands to spend my Xmas with the girls and the hubby.
7. Got promoted to AVP.
8. Changed car from RX8 to Lancer EX
9. Bought a new LV bag
10. Restart my "career" as a loans hunter Team Lead. Thank goodness!
11. Rode out the economic storm crisis.
12.

I'd really like to add on, but I can't seem to find anything else to add... I must be a seriously boring person.

Oh well, if I do remember anything else, I'll put it in. In the meantime, I should seriously start thinking of my "before 30" list. I've got only another 8 more months to go!

It's scary... when I read woman magazines these days.. I no longer look into the 20s categories to see what other women in their 20s are doing. I now look at women who are in their 30s and wonder if I'm far off from their accomplishments. And the scariest part is. I AM.

Love..

is when your Husband walks out of the house in the middle of the night, trying to find a drain full of water to put your ex pet fish in cos the fish tank broke.

I had already walked all around an hour earlier, but couldn't find a drain full enough for a fish to survive.

When I got back, I felt REALLY bad. Cos I'd just left the fish in it's make shift "container" tank by the bin (hoping the Bangla would help me tomorrow). The hubby asked where I'd dropped the fish off and I told him, there. He asked if I felt bad. I told him YES. And he took the keys, and left the house, to try to find a better place for the fish, so that I'd feel better...

All this, at 11.30pm at night.

I've married the right man.

Just an Update

Wow, it's been almost two months since I last updated. I've been soooo busy at work it's not funny. I run like a clockwork mouse until the girls are asleep at night. I sometimes wonder where I get all my energy from, considering that I wake up at least 3 times a night from 12am - 6am to check on the girls and the hubby, as well as to feed them and make sure they have not been squashed by myself or the hubby... (Kate sleeps with the adults on the queensized bed) or fallen off the bed (Ash sleeps by herself, on a best effort basis, on her old baby cot which has been modified all the way down, with the sliding side removed)

We had some minor "renovation" works. Shifted some furniture around to make space for the growing family. We moved Ash's old cot back to it's original original position by the window and the wall (previously overtaken by our study table). We moved the table outside, where it used to be. All the toys have been kept in boxes purchased from Ikea and stuffed under that table. We bought a small Little Tikes table for Ash to do her drawings and have her meals/snacks.

Some random pics of the family and some comparisons...

22/11/2009: I was minding my own business on my bed one day & when I turned my head to check on our little friend who was lying next to me (just 5 seconds later), she was up to no good again.

this post prob sounds boring. But I decided to post it anyway.. to remind me years down the road, how my baby sounded when she started learning how to string together sentences and phrases.

Only a mother would be able to understand. How each step her child takes... can be so important to her.

Ashley's turns 2!

It was a simple and quiet affair. We decided to bring the girls to Terminal 3 @ Changi Airport so Ash could run her hearts out. We figured it wouldn't be too crowded as well. Wise choice...

I've been so bogged down with the work / home routine that I haven't had the energy to blog much. Here's some pics taken on Ash's birthday though. And some of her birthday celebrated at her school...

The playground was for kids aged 2-5 years only. Definitely, this KID was overaged

We bought a cake and went home for a cosy celebration. Here's the happy birthday girl

And so it is... My darling baby is now 2 years old. I miss each day that has passed as I watch her grow. Watching her grow and learn new things is the most amazing experience. She can now string together short sentences and tell me what she wants. She's a big girl now. My pride and joy. And she's also the most loving sister Katelyn can ever have.

I love you Ashley-Mae... Happy 2nd Birthday!
